I am adoring my first year teaching! My students are darlings, my colleagues are the best, and my classroom is my happy place!
But I have grown accustomed to the "newbie stare." You know the one. A new teacher walks into your room to ask a question and you happily oblige. As you share your expertise, you see the newbie's eye settle on something in the classroom, look puzzled, then glaze over.
and you know what they are thinking?
"What the...? How did they do that? How can I do that in my room?" and you've lost them.
To all the patient teachers who have helped me along the way so far, thank you for working past the "newbie stare." I am learning and growing!
